Outside Sales Engineer – Midwest
TE Instruments is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Outside Sales Engineer to drive our growth initiatives in the Midwest region. This individual will be responsible for generating new business, maintaining and expanding existing client relationships, and strategically growing our market share in the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the Midwest industrial and scientific communities, a proven track record in sales, and a technical background in analytical instrumentation. In this role, you
will be working closely together with a team of sales, service and application specialists based in our office in Houston with guidance from our Sales Manager.

Your impact:
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the Midwest region. Develop and execute strategies to expand market presence and increase sales of our elemental analyzers.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and prospects. Provide exceptional customer service and solutions to meet client needs. Organize product demonstrations (onsite or from our Houston lab) and assist with local trade shows.
- Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the inside/outside sales teams and management to develop and implement sales strategies for existing and new products/services. Lead qualification process and overall sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Maintain an overview of customer labs and identify new opportunities. Provide insights to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Reporting and Documentation: Keep accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities in the CRM platform. Prepare and present reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market feedback. Provide internal updates to the sales and marketing teams on external market changes and competition.
Our ideal colleague has:
- Experience: At least 3 years in outside sales, preferably selling analytical instrumentation in the petrochemical, chemical, and/or environmental industries. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and expanding market presence.
- Technical Background: Strong understanding of elemental analyzers or related technologies. Technical aptitude to effectively communicate product benefits and solutions.
- Network: An established network of industry contacts in the Midwest region with the ability to leverage these connections to drive business development.
- Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, though relevant job experience may be considered.
- Fluency in English: is required, with Spanish language skills as a plus.

- An excellent communicator – You have high negotiation and presentation skills, are friendly, and are a good listener when building client relationships and understanding needs.
- Ambitious and driven – Self-motivated and proactive, you are hungry to learn and reach success.
- A team player – You work effectively with inside sales teams or cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and have experience coordinating with team members to optimize lead management and sales processes.
- Willing to travel – You are open to extensive travel within the Midwest region, with occasional travel to corporate headquarters and industry events.
- Organized & accurate – You have a keen attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
