Support Engineer – Houston
We are looking for an experienced Support Engineer to join our TE Instruments USA team in Houston, Texas. Are you a motivated and energetic individual with a technical background? In this role, you will be working closely together with a team of sales, service and application specialists based in our office in Houston with guidance from our Support Manager. You will be promoting and providing outstanding customer support and be responsible for maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of our machines for the TE-USA customer base.

Are you excellent at these following activities?
- Performs preventive and/or corrective maintenance to TE products during customers visits (end users and global accounts) and providing technical support/assistance by phone, email, etcetera.
- Travelling within the USA is required for product installations, training, and service purposes.
- Occasional travel to Canada and Latin America may also be required.
- Monitors status of open support tickets and gives follow up until conclusion, using our ERP system.
- Responsible for achieving defined targets of both: Service and Spare Parts
- Picking up signals considering developments, trends and customer satisfaction during customer visits and providing feedback to the Commercial Team and delivering critical quality data to the management.
- Organizes and performs instrument demos, training and workshops together with the Sales Engineer.
- Responsible for personal inventory management and related communication with Order desk.
- Actively promote products to assist sales team in generating new business opportunities
Our ideal colleague has…
- Residence in the Houston area
- Experience – At least 3 years servicing/supporting Analytical Laboratory Instrumentation within or relate to the (Petro)chemical, Renewable energy or Environmental (water) industry.
- Experience in the Elemental analysis and/or Ion Chromatography would be a plus.
- Education – Degree or diploma in a relevant field: lab or analytical instrumentation.
- Experience and comfortable using CRMs or ERPs.
Besides that, you are:
- An excellent communicator – You have strong verbal and written skills. You are friendly, patient and are a good listener
- English required, Spanish is a plus!
- Customer focused – You are sensitive for needs, improving performance and skills.
- Ambitious and driven – You take ownership, respect & care for coworkers. You are a self-starter, self-supporting, motivated, stress resistant.
- Analytical and accurate – You are a problem-solver and good at diagnosing, troubleshooting and managing support tickets, while having eye for detail.
- A team player – You work effectively with inside sales teams or cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and have experience coordinating with team members to optimize lead management and sales processes.
